1 Dead, At Least 2 Injured In Midday South Side Shooting

CHICAGO (CBS) -- One person is dead, and two more were wounded, in a shooting in broad daylight Saturday afternoon in the Grand Crossing neighborhood.
The shooting happened around 1:20 p.m. Saturday in the 7900 block of South St. Lawrence Avenue, police said.
Three people were shot.
The victims were a 17-year-old girl who was shot in the back, an 18-year-old man who was shot in the leg, and a 20-year-old man, who was dead on the scene, according to police News Affairs Officer Daniel O'Brien.
The fatality was confirmed by the Cook County Medical Examiner's office, which had no other information available yet on that victim.
The teenage girl was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where she was reported in good condition. The surviving man was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, and was reported in stable condition, police said.
Further details of the shooting were not immediately available.
