1 Dead, 4 Injured In Thursday Night Shootings
CHICAGO (CBS) -- At least one person was killed and four others were injured by gunfire in various parts of the city Thursday night.
The earliest shooting happened in the dinnertime hours when the sun was still shining. Around 6:15 p.m., the two men were shot in the 5800 block of South Prairie Avenue.
One man, 27, was taken to Stroger Hospital of Cook County in critical condition, while the other was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center in serious condition, fire officials said.
At 8:30 p.m., a 33-year-old Aurora man was shot and killed in the West Side's Hermosa neighborhood.
Robert Solomon was shot in the 4300 block of West Dickens Avenue and died of his injuries, authorities said. Solomon, of the 400 block of Forest Avenue in Aurora, was dead on the scene, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.
Finally, a man and woman were shot around 11:20 p.m. in the Southwest Side's Chicago Lawn neighborhood.
The victims were both shot near 62nd Street and Western Avenue, police said.
The woman was reported in stable condition at Stroger Hospital, while the man was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, Gaines said. His condition was not immediately known.
The circumstances surrounding the shootings were not immediately known.
