1 Dead, 3 Injured In Grand Crossing Crash
CHICAGO (CBS) -- One person was killed, and three others were injured, in a crash overnight in the South Side's Grand Crossing neighborhood.
Around 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, a van slammed into a pole near the intersection of 75th Street and Dobson Avenue, police said.
The four people inside the vehicle had to be extricated from the van.
A front-seat passenger, described as a woman in her 40s, was dead at the scene, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.
Two others were taken in critical condition to Stroger Hospital of Cook County, Fire Media Affairs said. One person was critically injured and taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital.
The identity of the woman who died was not immediately released.
The accident is under investigation by the police Major Accidents Investigation Unit.
