1 Dead, 2 Injured In Schaumburg Crash
SCHAUMBURG, Ill. (STMW) - A Palatine man is dead and two people are injured after a Friday night crash in northwest suburban Schaumburg.
Emergency personnel responded at 8:32 p.m. to a crash at East Woodfield and West Frontage roads, according to a Schaumburg police release.
A black BMW sports-utility vehicle driven by a 51-year old woman was traveling south on Frontage Road when it struck the driver's side of a green Chevrolet Malibu traveling east on Woodfield Road, according to the release.
The 61-year-old driver of the Chevy Malibu -- identified by the Cook County Medical Examiner's office as Robert Manley, of the 400 block of N. Lake Shore Dr. in Palatine -- was trapped inside the car, according to the release. He was extricated and taken to Alexian Brothers Medical Center in Elk Grove Village where he was pronounced dead at 9:05 p.m.
An 18-year-old woman passenger of the Malibu and the driver of the BMW were taken to Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights with non-life-threatening injuries.
Schaumburg Police are investigating.
An autopsy is scheduled for later Saturday, according to the medical examiner's office.
