1 Dead, 2 Injured In Far South Side Shooting
CHICAGO (CBS) -- Police were searching Friday morning for the shooter who killed one man was killed wounded two others on the city's Far South Side.
Around 7:05 p.m. Thursday, the three men were in a Jeep Cherokee in the 600 block of West 115th Street, on the cusp of the Washington Heights and Morgan Park neighborhoods. A dark-colored sedan pulled up alongside them, and someone inside shot at them, police said.
The driver was struck in the arm, the front-seat passenger was struck several times, and the backseat passenger suffered a graze wound, police said. The men drove to Roseland Community Hospital, where the front-seat passenger later died.
The front-seat passenger, Lemont Coleman, 29, of the 300 block of West 116th Street, was pronounced dead there at 7:39 p.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.
No one was reported in custody as of Friday morning.
