1 Dead, 2 Injured In Crash

CHICAGO (STMW) - A 22-year-old man was killed and two other people injured in a traffic crash on the Near West Side early Sunday, police said.

The accident happened on the 1900 block of West Washington Boulevard about 2:50 a.m., according to police News Affairs Officer Amina Greer.

The crash involved two cars, one of which struck an object and flipped over, police News Affairs Officer Daniel Sullivan said, citing preliminary information. A 22-year-old man was killed in the crash, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office. He was dead on the scene.

Two others, a male and a female, were taken to John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County, both in good condition, according to Sullivan.

One driver was cited for driving on a suspended license, Sullivan said.

The police Major Accident Investigation Unit is investigating.
