CHICAGO (STMW) -- One man was killed and another critically wounded in a shooting early Sunday outside a North Side nightclub.
The two men were standing near a vehicle outside the Krush nightclub in the 1600 block of North Elston Avenue just before 3 a.m. when another male approached on foot and began shooting, police said.
Two men were wounded in the shooting, according to police News Affairs Officer Robert Perez. Asif Memon, 25, was fatally wounded, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office, and a 23-year-old man suffered several gunshots to the lower part of his body, police said. Police said Memon suffered a gunshot wound to the chest. The shooting occurred at 1674 N. Elston Ave., according to the medical examiner's office.
Both men were taken to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center where Memon, of 4821 N. Perez said as of about 11 a.m. that the second victim's condition had stabilized.
No one was in custody later Sunday morning and Grand Central Area detectives continued to investigate.
