Hibbert is a restricted free agent, meaning the Pacers can match any deal, but the Celtics are expected to make a big run at the 25-year-old center. Hibbert set new career highs in 2012, averaging 12.8 points and 8.8 rebounds. The Georgetown product has rounded into one of the best centers in the NBA, and would be a huge pickup for Boston. F Kris Humphries
Although he is more popular for whom he was briefly married to, Humphries could absolutely help the Celtics on the boards. Humphries started 62 games for the Nets last season, averaging 13.8 points and 11 rebounds per game. Another marquee center that is a restricted free agent this summer, Lopez would be a big impact pickup for Boston. A great offensive player, Lopez needs to improve his rebounding and stay healthy. If the Celtics need some three-point shooting, Steve Novak could be their man. He made just $1 million with the Knicks in 2012, but led the NBA shooting 47-percent from three-point land. If the Celtics want rebounding, Reggie Evans is their man. He is a rugged, and sometimes dirty, rebounder and defender, and would fit in nicely with the Celtics’ defensive mentality. Evans is very limited on offense (we’ll come out and say it, he has NO offense), but is one of those players you love to have on your team, but hate playing against him. Maxiell could give the Celtic some size and defense off the bench, but has a $5 million player option to return to Detroit.
