Mike Lowell was drafted by the Yankees, and played eight games for them in 1998 before being traded to the Florida Marlins. Lowell ended up being a contract dump for Florida in the 2005 Josh Beckett-Hanley Ramirez swap, but ended up being the 2007 World Series MVP for Boston.

Mark Bellhorn played a major part in the Red Sox 2004 comeback against the Yankees in the ALCS, but was released by the team in August of 2005. So he signed with New York and played nine games for the Yankees that season.

Luis Tiant spent eight seasons with the Red Sox from 1971 to 1978, winning 122 games. But "El Tiante" crossed sides and spent two years with the Yankees after.

Slugger Jim Leyritz started his career in the Bronx, but played 52 games for the Red Sox in 1998. He returned to the Yankees for half of the 1999 season, and won his second World Series with the team.

Jose Canseco hits 52 home runs in his two seasons in Boston from 1995-96, and then joined the Yankees for 37 games in 2000. He only made one appearance for New York in the 2000 World Series, but won the second ring of his career in pinstripes.

Derek Lowe had eight solid years in Boston from 1997-2004, winning a World Series in 2004, but signed with the Yankees in 2012 after his release from the Cleveland Indians.

David Wells had his best years with the Yankees, going 68-28 in four seasons over two different stints in pinstrikes -- throwing a perfect game and winning the World Series in 1998. He joined the Red Sox for a season and a half in 2005, going 17-10 before being dealt to the San Diego Padres in August of 2006.

Many of the 2004 Red Sox found their way onto the Yankees. In addition to Youk, Damon Bellhorn, and Lowe, relievers Alan Embree and Mike Myers and first baseman Doug Mientkiewicz also donned pinstripes following the World Series title.

After a successful seven years in New York, Ramiro Mendoza joined the Red Sox in 2003. Despite the uniform change, many felt he was still playing for the Yankees -- going 5-6 with a 5.73 ERA in his two seasons in Boston. After getting a ring with the Red Sox in 2004, Mendoza returned to the Yankees for one more season in 2005.

Erik Hinske won the 2007 World Series with the Red Sox, and then joined the Yankees in time to win another in 2009.

Tom "Flash" Gordon played four seasons for Boston in the 90's, saving 46 games in 1996. After missing all of the 2000 season and bouncing around with the Cubs, Astros and White Sox, Gordon spent two years in the Yankees bullpen.
