WBZ-TV News’ new chief meteorologist Eric Fisher was in town in early August to get acquainted with his WBZ colleagues and to shoot promotional spots as well as photography.
Did you know? Eric is from Southwick, MA and his wife is from Holliston, MA.

Eric started the day with a promotion shoot with producer Michael Ruzicka and photographer Peter Slabysz of WBZ’s creative services team. This shot features Eric with the Mobile AccuWeather Lab.
Fun Fact: Eric spent almost every summer of his life taking a trip to Cape Cod, most often Harwich.

Did you know? Eric is a huge New England sports fan. In fact, he is a Red Sox season ticket holder, and he held onto his tickets even when living in Atlanta.

Fun Fact: Eric has family all over the state: Uncle-in-law is Berkshire County Sherriff, Mother-in-law runs Health Department for Wellesley public schools, brother-in-law is a Longmeadow Police Officer, cousin helped treat the man bitten by the shark in Truro last year!

A little later in the day, Eric met with the WBZ-TV News’ AccuWeather team of meteorologists. Finishing his early newscast, Joe Joyce was the first to welcome Eric to the WBZ AccuWeather team.
Did you know? Eric and his wife were married at Gibbet Hill in Groton, MA and had their 'mini-moon' on Nantucket.

Later in the day, meteorologist Todd Gutner welcomes Eric to WBZ-TV News. Both meteorologists call the region home and have been avid storm watchers since childhood.
Fun Fact: Eric’s career as a meteorologist was inspired by the infamous Memorial Day tornado that ripped through Great Barrington in 1995.
