Guard Richard Hamilton
Pistons guard Richard Hamilton would be a nice addition as a veteran shooter and defender. Hamilton has played in just one of the Pistons last 20 games due to trade rumors and a groin injury, but averaged 13.3 points per game while shooting over 40-percent from the field in 35 games. If the Celtics are lucky, the Pistons will work out a buy-out with Rip, and the C's could sign him without having to give anything up. Copyright 2011 NBAE (Photo by J. Guard Anthony Parker

Forward Shane Battier
Rumors swirled on Tuesday that the Celtics were eyeing the Rockets' Shane Battier, a very smart verteran defender who has played his entire career in the Western Conference. A deal for Battier may be tough and just a dream, as the Celtics do not have many chips to offer Houston in a trade. (Photo by Jeff Gross/Getty Images)
Forward Grant Hill
Forward Jared Dudley
Another target for the Celtics in Phoenix could be former Boston College star Jared Dudley, who is shooting 46-percent from the field this season. Copyright 2011 NBAE (Photo by P.A. Molumby/NBAE via Getty Images)
Forward James Posey
Celtics fans know what James Posey can bring from his 2008 playoff performance, often getting the task of guarding Lakers guard Kobe Bryant in the NBA Finals. Now on the Pacers, a deal could be difficult, with Indiana saying they will not buy-out Posey. Copyright 2011 NBAE (Photo by Noah Graham/NBAE via Getty Images)
Forward Troy Murphy
Nets power forward Troy Murphy is expected to be dealt to Golden State, who will then buy-out the 6'11" 30-year-old. Murphy could provide some height off the bench and could come pretty cheap, but the Celtics will have competition for his services. Copyright 2010 NBAE (Photo by Nathaniel S. Forward Rasual Butler
The Celtics could turn to Clippers forward Rasual Butler, who is averaging five points-per-game off the bench in 38 games this season. Copyright 2011 NBAE (Photo by Noah Graham/NBAE via Getty Images)
Forward Josh Howard
A name that has come up in rumors is Washington forward Josh Howard. Howard has played just 11 games this season while dealing with a leg injury, but has averaged over 15 points-per-game over his nine year career. Copyright 2011 NBAE (Photo by Ned Dishman/NBAE via Getty Images)
