BOSTON (CBS) – Former New England Patriots quarterback Scott Zolak says he is "embarrassed" to be a part of the NFL after Brady was issued a four game suspension for the deflated footballs controversy.

"It's a complete embarrassment the way the National Football League has handled this," Zolak said on WBZ-TV Monday night. "Based on what we deem as important in other circles an actual PSI drop gets you this."
On Monday, the league announced that quarterback Tom Brady has been suspended four games. In addition, the Patriots will have a first-round pick in 2016 and a fourth-round pick in 2017 taken away. The team will also be fined $1 million.
"The commissioner dropped the ball on this one," Zolak said. "This is the way the NFL operates. They have an investigation they put the findings out there they wait and see what the mob mentality is and then they act accordingly with the mob mentality."
"I've been around the game at this level since '91. It's the first day I can ever say I'm embarrassed to be a part of it."
Scott Zolak is the Patriots color commentator and co-host of the Zolak & Bertrand show on 98.5 The Sports Hub.
