Zipcar Planning Expansion Into Europe
CAMBRIDGE (AP) — Car-sharing service Zipcar Inc. said Wednesday that it named Frerk-Malte Feller as president of its European operations, where it has made acquisitions to expand.
Feller will be responsible for putting in place and overseeing the Cambridge, Mass.-based company's growth strategy for Europe.
Zipcar bought United Kingdom-based Streetcar Ltd. in 2010 and late last year said would take a majority stake in Spain's Avancar.
Feller, who will be based in the United Kingdom, most recently served as managing director for PayPal Australia and worked for more than 12 years for PayPal's parent company eBay Inc.
In morning trading, Zipcar shares fell 20 cents to $14.73.
