Zak DeOssie Named To Pro Bowl
EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (CBS/AP) -- New York Giants long snapper Zak DeOssie has been chosen to play for the NFC in the Pro Bowl.
Atlanta Falcons coach Mike Smith made the selection on Thursday.
It will be DeOssie's second Pro Bowl. He played two years ago.
DeOssie will work with Dallas punter Mat McBriar and Philadelphia kicker David Akers in Hawaii a week from Sunday. It is not known who will be the holder.
DeOssie grew up in North Andover, where he graduated from Phillips academy. He was drafted by the Giants in 2007 after graduating from Brown University.
Zak is the son of Steve DeOssie, a frequent contributor to Patriots 5th Quarter and Sports Final on WBZ-TV. Each won a championship with the New York Giants, becoming the only father-son duo to win a Super Bowl with the same franchise.
