Young Volunteers Spend MLK Day Serving Others In Roslindale
BOSTON (CBS) - They are giving back and making a difference in Roslindale on Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.

Young people teamed up with City Year volunteers to spruce up an old middle school Monday.
"Martin Luther King Jr. was about service and the fact that we are all different colors and backgrounds all coming together on a day of service really brings his message full circle," City Year leader Brittany Orange said.
For some, it was their first time picking up a hammer.
Breaking off into teams, 265 City Year men and women worked side by side with students to help give the aging school a well needed makeover.
"We are painting, building benches, doll houses and signs for the community. It's our chance to do service on this nationwide service day," City Year member Justin Marshall said.
"It really warms my heart that people actually care and are coming here to work," Irving student Florcey Bouquet said.
The King holiday is marked by a day of service nationwide, honoring his legacy through service.
"To carry on Dr. King's legacy we need to do the small things everyday that our children need to be successful. And this is a perfect example of that," Principal Arthur Unobskey said.
