Yaz Throwing Out First Pitch For Home Opener
BOSTON (CBS) - WBZ-TV's Steve Burton is reporting Carl Yastrzemski will throw out the ceremonial first pitch for the Red Sox home opener against the New York Yankees.

Yaz spent his entire 23-year career with the Red Sox, finishing with a career batting average of .285 to go with 452 home runs and 1,844 RBIs. He won the MVP award in 1967, the same year won the triple crown, leading the American League in HRs, RBIs and batting average. He is the last major leaguer to accomplish such a feat.

He retired from the Red Sox in 1983 and was elected into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1989.
Yaz also threw out the first pitch in Game One of the 2004 World Series against the St. Louis Cardinals.
