X-Rays Negative, Pedroia Day-To-Day

BOSTON (CBS) -Red Sox second baseman Dustin Pedroia is day-to-day after being hit by a pitch Thursday night against the New York Yankees.

Pedroia was hit in the right forearm while striking out to end the bottom of the third inning, and had to leave the game with a forearm contusion. X-Rays game back negative, but it was a scary scene for manager Bobby Valentine after his All Star second baseman was plunked.

"His hand was shaking,'' Valentine said after the Sox and Yankees played to a 4-4 tie. "I was really worried about it, very worried. I'm glad the X-rays were negative.''
