Wyshynski On Toucher & Rich: Bruins Must 'Stay The Course' And Not Panic

BOSTON (CBS) - Greg Wyshynksi from Yahoo! Sports' Puck Daddy blog joined 98.5 The Sports Hub's Toucher & Rich show Wednesday morning after a tough 4-2 Bruins loss Tuesday night at the hands of the rival Canadiens in Montreal.

There weren't many positives to take away from the game if you're a Bruins fan, and leading up to a pivotal Game 4 tomorrow night Wyshynski thinks coach Claude Julien mustn't panic.

The Bruins aren't getting much from David Krejci and the first line (something Julien acknowledged following the game) and there's a case to be made to make some changes and switch it up -- because quite frankly all four lines haven't been productive in this series.

But Wyshynski feels it'd be best to just stay the course.

"Other than trying to get some matchups you didn't get in Game 3, which is going to be tough without the last line change, I think the best thing here is to stay the course," said the Puck Daddy editor. "If there needs to be any panic it needs to be during Game 4, not in practice leading up to Game 4.

"The [Bruins] are a team we know about and right now the Canadiens seem to have their number. I don't know if it's the speed deficiency between the two teams, or whether it's simply having guys on Montreal elevate their games. It's such a cliche statement but you look on the ice and see guys that were passengers during the regular season all of a sudden start driving the engine.

"I'd stay the course. I wouldn't hit the panic button and start moving around pieces. I think Game 4 is a different situation. You've already weathered the storm of the Bell Centre crowd in Game 3 -- they're gonna be nuts in Game 4 too, but go out, establish the lead and start playing Bruins hockey again."

The storyline leading up to Game 3 was the need for the Bruins to exercise discipline and not commit stupid penalties. By and large, that's exactly what happened Tuesday night and they still lost.

Although they played with restraint and kept Montreal out of the man advantage, Boston didn't play overly physical and that's just not their game. Despite being down 2-1 in the series, Wyshynski closed the interview with some words of encouragement for Bruins fans.

"Bruins in seven...keep the faith."
