Police: Alcohol 'Not A Factor' In Wrong-Way Wreck On Expressway In Boston

BOSTON (CBS/AP) -- State police say two people were seriously hurt in a wrong way crash on the Southeast Expressway in Boston overnight.

The crash, involving three cars and a motorcycle happened in the southbound lanes of Interstate 93 between exits 11 and 12 in Dorchester at about 1 am Monday.

Police say 26-year-old Anna Miskane of Lynn was driving the wrong way when she hit two other cars and one motorcycle.

State Police Sgt. Matthew Murray told WBZ NewsRadio 1030's Karen Twomey that alcohol does not appear to be a factor.

WBZ-TV's Peg Rusconi reports

Miskane was in critical condition. The driver of the car she initially struck, 33-year-old Faith Jorge of Taunton was also seriously injured.

The highway was closed for several hours during the investigation but opened in time for the morning commute.

Police had not yet indicated whether any charges would be filed.
