Wounded Boston Police Officer Released From Hospital
BOSTON (CBS) -- The Boston police officer who was shot in the leg Friday was released from the hospital Sunday evening. Police say he is in good spirits and resting with his family.
Officer Kurt Stokinger was working a case with the drug unit when he was shot in the leg on Mount Bowdoin Terrace in Dorchester.
Officers saw the suspect, 27-year-old Grant Headley, driving in Dorchester Friday morning and knew his drivers license was suspended, so they boxed him in to stop him.
When officers pulled him over, Headley got out of the car opened fire, hitting the Stokinger in the calf, police said. He was arrested shortly after.
Headley will be arraigned Monday morning.
