World Series Proposal: Couple Gets Engaged On Yawkey Way
BOSTON (CBS) --- Game One of the World Series was a memorable one for any Red Sox fan but for two fans it was made even more memorable.
Before the game, Alex Giovonni proposed to girlfriend Kiera Armstrong on Yawkey Way.
Giovonni's friend Pat captured the whole thing on video and later posted it to YouTube.
"I'm really nervous," Giovonni says on camera before meeting up with Armstrong. "I think this is going to go well.
The video shows the two meeting on Yawkey Way.
That's when he pops the question.
"When we went on our first date 5 years ago, we went to a Red Sox game so I thought it was only appropriate we come back tonight," he said.
A tearful Armstrong embraces Giovanni.
"I said yes! Go Sox," Armstrong tells the camera.
Then, like a scene out of Cinderella, Giovanni fits Armstrong with a pair of Red Sox flip-flops that read: "She Said Yes!" and "Go Sox!"
WBZ-TV reached out to Giovonni and Armstrong but they declined to be interviewed.
