Worcester State Student Dies After 60-Foot Fall From Roof
WORCESTER (CBS) - A Worcester State University student was found dead at a parking garage on campus on Tuesday morning.
Nicholas Leoni of Shrewsbury was seen on the roof of the parking garage on 486 Chandler Street by a university police officer at around 8:30 a.m. The 21-year-old then fell almost 60 feet to his death.
The death is not considered suspicious and there is no danger to students, according to the Worcester County District Attorney's office.
The medical examiner will determine the cause of death.
"On behalf of the entire Worcester State University I want to express my deepest sympathy to the family and friends of the student. Worcester State University Counselors are on hand to meet with all and any students who need counseling," Worcester State President Barry Maloney said in statement Tuesday afternoon.
