Worcester, Holy Cross, Address Student Behavior
WORCESTER, Mass. (AP) -- The city of Worcester and the College of the Holy Cross have signed an agreement to address unruly student behavior in the neighborhood near campus.
The agreement signed Tuesday by City Manager Michael O'Brien and college President Rev. Michael McFarland sets out clear ways to deal with off-campus student behavior, enforce student code of conduct infractions and civil legal violations.
The aim is to address longstanding issues in the Jesuit school's neighborhood, including disruptive house parties hosted by students and large gatherings of students on public streets.
The Telegram & Gazette reports that McFarland says it's important to establish an atmosphere of respect and sensitivity between the school and the city.
