Motive Unclear After Worcester Couple Shot And Killed

WORCESTER (CBS) – Friends have identified the couple killed in a Worcester shooting, though police have not yet released details behind the shooting.

Police were called to Forbes Street just before 8 p.m. Thursday and found a 26-year-old woman dead and a 28-year-old man suffering from serious injuries. The man died was pronounced dead a short time later at an area hospital.

On Friday, friends told WBZ-TV's Susie Steimle the victims are Jessica McKeon and Alex "Macho" Lora.

Maleisha Robinson, a friend of the couple, said she didn't want to believe the news of their death.

"I'm lost for words. I'm lost for why this happened. I'm lost," she said, adding "I just know they were good people who tried."

Silvio Hernandez owns the triple-decker house where the shooting took place. McKeon and Lora were killed on the building's second floor.

Hernandez's grandchildren were on the first floor when the shooting took place.

He said police have not said much about a motive in the case, but added that he has not seen anything suspicious in the area.

People who knew McKeon and Lora say they don't know why anyone would target them.

"I never knew they were having any problems or anything like that. We see them every day coming from work," Hernandez said.

Detectives were on scene throughout Friday morning searching for evidence.
