2 Women Stabbed In Waltham; Suspect Arrested

WALTHAM (CBS) – A man is under arrest after two women were stabbed inside a home on Weston Street in Waltham Wednesday afternoon.

The homeowner is in critical condition. A family member tells WBZ-TV's Julie Loncich she was stabbed dozens of times by the estranged boyfriend of her downstairs tenant.

The suspect, 37-year-old Emanuel Louis, then allegedly attacked her 83-year-old mother.

A relative says Louis came to see his estranged girlfriend who rents an apartment in the basement of the home.

For reasons unknown, he made his way upstairs to the first floor, and according to relatives attacked the 52-year-old homeowner.

The victim's elderly mother heard the commotion, entered the room, and was stabbed in the hand. She stumbled outside and eventually collapsed on the sidewalk.

Authorities arrested Louis about a mile down the road.

Relatives say the homeowner was stabbed in the chest and head.

The suspect's estranged girlfriend and a child who was also in the apartment, were not injured in the attack.

Louis has been charged with armed assault with intent to murder, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon causing serious bodily injury and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon on a victim over 60. He will be arraigned on Thursday.
