67-Year-Old Woman Stabbed To Death Inside South Boston Home
BOSTON (CBS) – A 67-year-old woman was stabbed to death inside her South Boston home on Monday.
Officers responded to the house at 737 East 7th Street around 10 a.m.
They say the victim, Barbara Coyne, was rushed to Boston Medical Center where she passed away. She had lived in the neighborhood for decades.
Police aren't sure of a motive, but State Senator Jack Hart was among those who suggested it was a robbery.
"We don't know what the motive was. We think it may have been breaking and entering," Hart said. "It's as brazen as can be... And it's as gruesome as can be."
No one has been arrested. Boston Police are asking anyone with information about the crime to contact them.
