Woman Says Nazish Noorani Killing Was All About Money
BOSTON (CBS) - Marguerite Ragusa says what happened to Nazish Noorani was all about money. She says Kashif Parvaiz was about to strike it rich and he didn't want his wife to share.
He's accused of gunning her down on the street as the couple walked with their 3-year-old. Police also arrested Antoinette Stephen from Billerica on charges she helped him.
Ragusa met Parvaiz through her stepson Martin. She says the two had a close and questionable relationship.
WBZ-TV's Kate Merrill reports
Martin, who was 74 and in a wheelchair had given Parvaiz 30 percent of an apartment building he owned in New Jersey two years ago.
Parvaiz had been getting $7,000 a month in rent from it. But that building is now being sold.
Parvaiz was in line for $2 million.
"Monday I signed and Tuesday she was dead," says Ragusa. "He didn't waste any time he was making sure she didn't get a nickel of what was coming to him"
Marguerite who also owns part of that building, says Pervaiz never hid how he felt about his wife.
She says, "he got intimate and said I hate my wife. I said why? It was an arranged marriage he said."
But what happened to her was still a surprise says Marguerite.
In fact, she worried more about her step son Martin, who she says financially supported Parvaiz.
"I knew something was going to happen," says Ragusa. "First I thought kill (Martin) but instead he got the money easily, so he didn't kill him. I had the feeling he was going to get that money one way or another."
