Woman Killed In Mattapan Hit And Run Identified
BOSTON (CBS) -- The woman found dead on Fottler Road in Mattapan after a hit and run Thursday has been identified by police as 57-year-old Brenda Lee Keller of Boston.
Keller's daughter, Chandra Anderson, said she's stunned by what happened. "I don't know how somebody could do that. How do you hit a person? You must have known you hit something, somebody, and you just kept going. How do you not stop to make sure they're OK?"
Keller was originally from Rockport but lived in Mattapan in recent years.
Neice Christine Leeber has fond memories of her aunt. "I have the greatest memories of her growing up," Leeber said. "She was a wonderful person."
Neighbors remembered Keller as a kind and generous woman.
"Every time we didn't have food, she would come over and give us some food because she used to go to the pantries and everything," said one young neighbor, Jonathan Mercado.
On Friday, police released an image of a black sedan with tinted windows that is believed to be involved.
The driver was described as a black female with a heavy build, long hair and wearing a white shirt and black pants. Police said she was last seen walking away from the scene towards Tennis Road.

Anderson said she hopes the driver will turn herself in. "I would love for that to happen...to get some closure to know who did it. To know that everything is done, and I'm sure it would lift a big burden off their shoulders, too."
Anderson, has set up a GoFundMe page for her mother's funeral expenses.
