Woman Killed, Man Injured In Andover Motorcycle Crash
ANDOVER, Mass. (AP) — A woman is dead and her husband is seriously injured after a crash in Andover involving a motorcycle and two SUVs.
A spokeswoman for the Essex District Attorney says the Methuen couple was riding a motorcycle that struck at least one of two SUVs that collided and stopped Saturday afternoon in the merge lane on Route 93 South.
The spokeswoman, Carrie Kimball Monahan, says 52-year-old Marie Bushnell was taken to Lawrence General Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
Her husband, 54-year-old John Bushnell, was driving the motorcycle. He was airlifted to Massachusetts General Hospital, where he is in critical condition.
The other vehicles involved were a GMC Jimmy operated by a 65-year-old Waltham man and a Jeep Liberty operated by a 32-year-old Salem, N.H. man. Neither was injured.
The crash remains under investigation.
