Woman, Dog Rescued From Burning Malden Home

MALDEN (CBS) - An elderly woman and dog were rescued from a burning home in Malden on Sunday.

Firefighters battled the three-alarm blaze at the home on 58 Porter Street.

Malden Assistant Fire Chief Jack Colangeli said the fire started in the second floor and spread quickly.

"The first arriving crews had heavy fire on the first, second, and third floor in the rear. We had a report of somone trapped on the first floor. Our guys went in and did a primary search, found there was no one on the first floor, and then started to attack the fire on the second and third floors," said Colangeli.

Firefighters were still working to completely put out the blaze Sunday evening.

No one was hurt. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
