Woman In Critical Condition After Alleged Beating By Boyfriend
BILLERICA (CBS) --State and local police were at the scene of what sources told WBZ news was the severe beating of a young woman, allegedly by her boyfriend.
A neighbor, who is a relative of the victim, says the 26-year-old woman lives in a Rogers Street home with her boyfriend and another female roommate.
"They took her to the hospital right away, to Lahey, and took him in handcuffs," Doris Joncas said.
The relative told WBZ-TV the woman is hurt "very bad."
"Brain bleed and broken bones in her face," Joncas said, "so I don't know if she's come to or not."
Lahey Clinic confirmed the victim is in critical condition.
Police are not commenting, saying more information will be released in court Monday. Doris Joncas says the woman was the victim of a savage attack.
"Well he kicked her, kicked her in the head. That's what they say. They said when they put him in the cruiser, they said 'take his shoes, when you get up to the station take his sneakers. We want that for evidence because he's going to court Monday.'"
