BOSTON (CBS) - A woman escaped an armed robbery at South Station during rush hour Tuesday morning.
MBTA spokeswoman Lydia Rivera said the woman was on the stairs between the Silver Line and the mezzanine area around 7 a.m. when a man with a knife approached her.
He allegedly tried to take her iPhone. She screamed and the man ran off with only some earphones.
Two veteran MBTA employees, Jimmy Finn and John Doherty, went after him, not knowing he had a knife.
