Kimani Washington apologized to family members of the victims before he was sentenced Friday in Suffolk Superior Court. Kimani pleaded guilty to armed home invasion, armed robbery, armed carjacking, and related offenses.
Washington reached a deal with prosecutors to testify against two other suspects in the slayings in the city's Mattapan neighborhood.
Washington said he took part in the robbery, but left before the shootings that left four dead and a fifth victim paralyzed.
Edward Washington, Kimani Washington's cousin, was acquitted in March. Dwayne Moore was convicted of murder at his second trial last month.
