With No Offer, Bobby Valentine In Japan
BOSTON (CBS) - Without an offer from the Boston Red Sox, Bobby Valentine is spending some time in Japan.
According to the New York Times, Valentine visited a hospital in the tsunami-ravaged city of Sendai in Japan before heading to Tokyo for a charity event where he was a guest at the Major League Baseball Cafe.
Valentine told Japanese fans he was anxious to hear from the Red Sox, and got their approval to take the job via a loud applause.

The 61-year-old spent seven seasons managing in Japan, one stint in 1995 and then against from 2004-2009, winning a Japan Series Championship with the Chiba Lotte Marines in 2005.
The Red Sox have yet to offer Valentine, or Gene Lamont, their managerial position. Boston is expected to make a decision later this week.
