Winter-Like Chill Continues

With average high temperatures near 44F in Boston, our high temps are running 5-10F below normal.  Today will include a lot of sunshine and highs between 28F-34F.  Tomorrow will be the coldest day this week as we struggle to reach 30F.  Thankfully, the sun will be shining and winds will be slightly calmer.

An Albert Clipper center passes to our north giving us a chance of snow showers late-day Friday thru Friday night. Current models are suggesting minimal precipitation so I'd say there is potential for a 'candy coating' to 1" in some interior locations and higher elevations.  Elsewhere, expect a rain/snow  mix along the coastline, the Cape, & the Islands.

A more significant storm system will impact our region Sunday thru Monday. Models continue to depict a sharp trough with strong warm air advection occurring Sunday thru midday Monday. Highs will be near 50F on Sunday.  The onset of the precip. on Sunday may begin a rain/snow mix, esp. higher elevations. Otherwise, current forecasts show this system affecting us with rain and gusty winds.  Much colder air will funnel in by Tuesday with a mere 15-20F temp drop between Monday and Tuesday.

Brrr...Chilly!

Melissa :)
