Windham, NH Brothers Onboard Navy Ship That Took Bin Laden
WINDHAM, NH (CBS) - Jeanna Getchell is a proud mom.
Her two sons, Greg and Steve Getchell serve in the US Navy and are onboard the USS Carl Vinson, ship that carried the body of Osama Bin Laden.
WBZ-TV's Paul Burton reports
"I asked my son if he saw the burial and he told me, 'mom, I can't answer that question,'" Getchell said sitting outside her home in Windham, New Hampshire.
Getchell did get emails from her sons describing the feelings they have to serve their country as this moment in time.
"He said words can't express how much Greg and Steve feel about being this close to an historic event. This is something they will remember and talk about forever," Getchell said.
The boys told their mom they hope this victory brings some sense of peace to the victims of 9/11. "This is one victory that will never be forgotten to our generation and the next. This is one piece that helps the families of 9/11 rest a little easier," Getchell said.
