Commissioner Ed Davis said extra officers will be on duty in case there's difficulty with fans celebrating or taking out their frustrations.

"We're not anticipating any major trouble tonight. We think the fans will be responsible. We're hopeful that things will go without any problem," Davis told WBZ NewsRadio 1030 Friday.

"We do have additional officers available to us tonight. All the specialized units will have their equipment to deal with large events, as well as a special platoon of officers that will be available to us if anything does happen."

Davis said police will not only focus on the Garden, but crowded bars at Faneuil Hall and Fenway Park.

"We prepare for these things months in advance. This isn't something that we just put together this week," he said.

"We do it all with the hope that nothing bad happens."
