The race wasn't even close with Jennifer beating David 127-to-76.
Jennifer, a stay-at-home mom, jumped into the race first last summer when it appeared that no one in her party was going to run.
A short time later, David, who's in the computer information systems business, was nominated by the Republicans in town.
Amy Calder, a reporter for The Morning Sentinel, interviewed the couple before the election.
"David said he figured Jennifer would win because she's a Democrat and Waterville is a largely Democratic city," Calder told WBZ NewsRadio 1030.
"She's more well-known in the community."
Calder said the Johnsons' three children all predicted their mother would win because she's more competitive.
The Johnsons said they ran to show both parties that Democrats and Republicans can work together and get along.
