Details of a meeting between the president, a Harvard University professor and a Cambridge police officer at the White House has some people Curious:
Kate from Woburn wants to know, "Who is picking up the tab for Crowley and Gates to go to Washington?"
The answer is: not the taxpayers.
WBZ learned that Cambridge Police Department unions are paying for Sgt. James Crowley to attend the meeting.
Professor Henry Louis Gates Jr., is also responsible for covering his trip expenses, but there's no word if anyone is helping him out.
Gates, who is black, was arrested last week by Sgt. Crowley, who is white, after an investigation into a suspected burglary found no burglars but escalated into a heated exchange between the men at Gates' home.
They're scheduled to meet at 6 p.m. Thursday for the first time since the arrest.
