Weymouth Woman Suing Uber After Alleged Sexual Assault
WEYMOUTH (CBS) – A Weymouth woman is suing Uber, claiming she was assaulted by a driver in April 2018.
Police arrested the man, but investigators say after he posted bond, he flew to Ghana and has not returned.
The lawsuit accuses Uber of using lax hiring and security screening standards. It was filed in district court in April, but was moved to federal court this week.
In December, Uber released a safety report revealing 5,981 incidents of sexual assault.
