Weymouth Man Dead After Fight With Son
WEYMOUTH (CBS) - The Norfolk County District Attorney says a father is dead after a fight with his son Monday afternoon.
Police responded to 26 Cross Street after 2 p.m. Monday for a domestic disturbance.
Police say a fight between Ronald Beaudry, 58, and his son Michael Beaudry, 20, had spilled out into the street when they arrived.
They found the elder Beaudry with a severe head wound.
"It appears to be some form of blunt force trauma to the head," Michael Morrissey, the Norfolk County District Attorney, said.
Police labelled a PVC pipe and a propane cylinder as evidence, but they refused to talk about the exact manner in which the older Beaudry had been killed, or if those items were directly involved.
"[Ronald] was lifeless, he looked lifeless. His eyes weren't moving, they weren't blinking," said Tommy Antonowicz, a neighbor of the Beaudry's. "[Michael] was very distraught. He was crying, screaming, 'I'm sorry, I didn't mean to do it, I didn't mean it.'"
"Unbelievable. It is - it's unbelievable," added neighbor Dennis Antonowicz. "They were just a happy family."
The elder Beaudry was pronounced dead upon arrived at South Shore Hospital.
This was not the first time police have dealt Michael Beaudry.
"We have had contact with Mr. Beaudry on at least two occasions over the past two years, but none of them gave rise to criminal activity," said Richard Grimes, Chief of the Weymouth Police Department.
Beaudry is set to be arraigned in Quincy District Court on Tuesday morning.
