We've Got the Cold...
When it's early in the season and we get a cold outbreak we might as well have snow too...trust me I won't be saying this in February...but enough with the rain! Well the money is in the bank so to speak, meaning cold enough air for snow will be around at times over the next 10 days but in the short term storms will miss us. There will be one backing into Northern New England this weekend and moisture will wrap around the storm and produce some good upslope snow for the ski resorts. Down here with a slightly unstable atmosphere we should see some passing flurries but not the inches of snow that Vermont, New Hampshire and Maine will receive.
So we wait for a more favorable upper air environment for a storm to develop and ride into the Northeast there are some signs that the trough in the East will rearrange itself and be more conducive for some kind of storm developmentthat 10 days or so out...how it will unfold, time will tell...
