Westford Teens To Face Charges In 'Pool Hopping' Accident
WESTFORD (CBS) -- The two teens that went "pool hopping," leaving one of them with serious injuries, will face charges.
Westford teenager Kelsey Gallagher and friend Alexis Mcauliffe, 20, tried to go for a swim in Chester Cook's pool around 12:30 a.m. Monday.
The problem was Cook's pool is empty for repairs.
On Wednesday, police summonsed Gallagher and Mcauliffe for trespassing.
After her friend jumped head-first into the empty pool, Mcauliffe banged on Cook's door to get help.
Gallagher is now at Brigham and Women's Hospital with a skull fracture, a broken wrist and a spinal injury.
Police say Mcauliffe told them the two were looking for pools to swim in.
Police say alcohol may have been a factor in the pool hopping but no alcohol was found at the scene.
Cook, is the building inspector in town. He said his pool is surrounded by a fence and was locked at the time.
Police say they are unsure when Ayer Court will schedule a hearing for the teens.
