Wellesley Police Find Driver In Fatal Hit-And-Run
WELLESLEY (CBS) – Wellesley police say they've found the driver wanted in connection with a deadly hit-and-run on Friday.
But they have not identified that person yet.
Alexander Motsenigos, 41, of Wellesley was riding his bike with a helmet on Weston Road around 2 p.m. Friday when he was struck by a truck.
The driver did not stop.
Motsenigos was rushed to Newton-Wellesley Hospital where he died.
Investigators announced Sunday morning that they found the driver and the vehicle after reviewing video from traffic cameras in the area.
However, they would not release any other information.
They were looking for help tracking down a possible witness in a Volvo who was also seen in the video.
Lt. Marie Cleary said that person came forward Sunday afternoon.
At the same time, Motsenigos's family issued this statement:
"We are so deeply moved by the outpouring of support from friends, family and community. We are also heartened by the swift actions of the Wellesley PD and have full confidence in their competence. We seek to grieve through celebration of Alex's life but also through a full understanding of the events surrounding his death. Please, if you know anything that will aid the investigation, come forward."

Motsenigos, a vice president at International Data Corporation, leaves behind his wife Nilanthi and their six-year-old son. He was training for his fourth triathlon this fall.
Motsenigos was born in Greece and moved to the U.S. in 1986, according to his family.
