Weekend of Ups-and-Downs

The past handful of Summer weekends have been nearly flawless.  However, we are going to break that stretch this weekend.

Today will be mainly cloudy along with a few bright spots around midday. Then, showers and storms will fire up this afternoon with the main concern being heavy rainfall. Light and variable winds will switch to the northeast this afternoon making it cooler along the coast.  Highs will be in the lower 80s inland and middle to upper 70s for the coast.

This weekend is setting up to end our spectacular track record on consecutive sunny summer weekends.  There will be areas of low pressure travelling along a stalled front near Southern New England this weekend. The end result will be an abundance of cloud cover this weekend, as well as the possibility of a few afternoon storms, especially away from the coast.  Onshore winds on Saturday will keep temperatures in check...75-80F.   On Sunday, winds will be blowing from the north and switch to a light onshore wind during the day.  High temps are expected to be in the middle 70s to near 80F once again.

Next week-->Monday is showing a brief respite from the shower/storm activity before another active weather pattern sets up through midweek.

Happy FRRRiday!  Enjoy your weekend!

~Melissa :)
