Week 3 Fantasy Mailbag: All About QBs
BOSTON (CBS) – 98.5 The Sports Hub's Nick Cattles has you covered throughout the fantasy football season, and will be answering all your questions in weekly mailbag.
Timmy: Should I trade Mike Williams (TB) and Big Ben for AJ Green and Joe Flacco? I already have Aaron Rodgers, but I'm thin at WR.
Hey Timmy, even though it's a gamble, I'd make the deal. I think Mike Williams will be better than he's been over the first couple of weeks. However, Cincinnati will be chucking the ball all year and AJ Green will be the no doubt number one target. He showed his potential last week and I'd expect Cincy to make him a pivotal part of the game plan more often than not.
Kevin: Is Vick worth the gamble this week or should I go Cam Newton?
Kevin, if Vick is healthy I'd roll with him. Yes, Newton's been awesome so far this season, but he's not Michael Vick. If Vick plays, he's as close to 100% as possible. The Eagles would NOT allow their franchise on the field if it was any different.
Joe: Who do I start this week: Rivers or Stafford?
Tough call, but fortunate situation you find yourself in. Yes, Detroit is an offensive juggernaut right now, but San Diego is going against a beat up and just all out bad Kansas City Defense. Minnesota's defense, on the other hand, will be better at home versus Stafford and company. Both guys are good plays, but I give the slight edge to Rivers.
Fantasy Mailbag: Send In Your Questions
Bill: Romo, Bradford, or Hasselbeck?
IF healthy, the play is Romo. If he's not, I'd roll with Sam Bradford vs. Baltimore's mediocre pass defense. Hasselbeck is a decent backup, but Kenny Britt's hamstring is worth keeping an eye on after he tweaked it earlier this week and Tennessee will run Chris Johnson more this week against that awful Broncos rush defense.
Danny: Should I trade any of the following or stand pat: D.Williams, A.Foster, H.Nicks, R.White, J.Finley?
Danny, I'd stay pat. Unfortunately, all of these guys have started out slower than expected, which means opposing owners will be looking to buy low. You don't want to be in that kind of situation when looking to deal. Wait a couple of weeks and see if their value improves.
Tom: I've got Dallas Clark in 2 leagues this year, and I'm starting to get a little down on him with the absence of Peyton. I've got Scott Chandler as a backup in one league, and Fred Davis in the other. I'm wondering what you guys think about switching out Clark this week for either or both of these guys.
Tom, I think making the switch and placing Fred Davis into your lineup, in the long-term, will give you more consistent results. Davis is improving daily and Grossman is starting to throw his way.

Ryan: Regular 10 man league. I have Kellen Winslow and am thinking about picking up Fred Davis. To get him I am thinking about dropping a bench WR. My choices are Knox, Burress, or Maclin.
Hey Ryan, I'd drop Knox and pick up Fred Davis. Knox is talented, probably more so than Roy Williams, but he's incredibly inconsistent. Davis is getting some love in Washington and that should continue.
