Wednesday's Child: Eric, Mystikal And Dakotah

BOSTON (CBS) - Eric, Mystikal and Dakotah are African American and Caucasian siblings whose social worker says are a pleasure to have around.

They are intelligent, polite, laid back and flexible children who try hard to please. They share a playful relationship with each other and love to laugh and joke around.

Currently, these siblings live in separate foster homes and visit each other regularly. They are hoping to be reunited in a family who could adopt them together.

WBZ-TV's Jack Williams reports

Eric is a helpful, thoughtful 14-year-old boy who initially presents as reserved, but warms up quickly and loves to talk. He takes school seriously and works hard with the help of an Individualized Education Plan for some subjects. His favorite subjects are math and science, and he would like to work in the technology field with computers when he gets older. Eric pursues his interests by asking good questions and using his problem-solving skills. Eric has done well overall in his foster home. He likes activities, such as playing basketball and video games, swimming and listening to music. Due to his traumatic history, Eric is working through any difficulties with therapy. Eric needs a dependable and loving family that could give him a lot of attention and patience.

Mystikal is a sweet, energetic 13-year-old girl with a great sense of humor. Smart and creative, she earns mostly A's in school and particularly excels at reading, writing and spelling. Mystikal is very helpful around her foster home and gets along well with her foster family. She likes cooking, especially baking, and wants to become a chef someday. In her spare time, Mystikal also likes watching iCarly, listening to Taylor Swift and hanging out with friends. She would thrive in a family that could give her one-to-one attention and would bring a lot of love and laughter to a home.

Dakotah is a polite 11-year-old boy who is quiet at first but opens up once he's comfortable. His personality has flourished the past few months. Not only is he a caring child, but now that he is out of his shell more, he is playful, funny and vocal. Dakatoh is creative like his sister, and is fascinated by science like his brother. This curious, imaginative and energetic youngster enjoys most physical activities, including swimming and jumping on the trampoline at his foster home. He is excited about playing soccer in the fall. Other interests include board and video games, and drawing, which he does well. Spiderman is one of his favorite characters. Dakotah has an Individualized Education Plan for reading at school, but is working hard and diligently exploring all of his new interests. Dakotah gets along well with his foster family. He has been described as helpful and good at following directions. He needs a family who can help him to feel comfortable as he continues to grow out of his shell and express his feelings more.

Legally free for adoption, Eric, Mystikal and Dakotah are ready to find a permanent home together. They would do best in a two-parent home with older children or no other children that could support their emotional special needs. An ideal family would be open to contact between the children and their birth family, and would likely reside in the New England area to maintain these important relationships.

To learn more about Eric, Mystikal and Dakotah, and about adoption from foster care, call the Massachusetts Adoption Resource Exchange (MARE) at 617-54-ADOPT (617-542-3678) or visit www.mareinc.org. The sooner you call, the sooner a waiting child will have "a permanent place to call HOME."
