WBZ, Boston Globe To Host Senate Debate Between Gomez, Sullivan, Winslow
BOSTON (CBS) – The Republican candidates for U.S. Senate, Gabriel Gomez, Michael Sullivan, and Dan Winslow, will participate in a live, one-hour television debate on WBZ-TV moderated by WBZ political analyst Jon Keller with questioning by Boston Globe Political Editor Cynthia Needham on Wednesday, April 10, from 7-to-8 p.m.
The primary election will be held April 30.
The debate will also be streamed live on CBSBoston.com, boston.com, bostonglobe.com, as well as simulcast live on WBZ-AM NewsRadio 1030.
The format of the live debate will allow candidates up to 90 seconds to respond to questioning from Keller and Needham, followed by extended periods of open debate and rebuttal. Candidates will be free to question one another and engage in direct exchanges.
Gomez, Sullivan, and Winslow are running for the Senate seat that became vacant when John Kerry was sworn in as Secretary of State.
Congressmen Stephen Lynch and Ed Markey are running against each other in the Democratic primary.
They will hold their final debate on WBZ-TV on Monday, April 22.
