The US Olympic Committee in conjunction with 24 Hour Fitness held a ribbon cutting ceremony at the University of East London. The ceremony celebrated the official opening of the training facility for athletes.
Two US Olympians, Tony Azevedo and Kerri Walsh, were on hand to welcome the athletes to their new facility. Azevedo is the 2008 Silver Medalist in Men's Water Polo, and the current team captain for the 2012 team. Walsh is the 2004 and 2008 Gold Medalist in Women's Beach Volleyball. This is the fourth Olympics for both athletes, and I took the opportunity to ask them what this Olympics means to them.
Azevedo and Walsh demonstrated some of the exercises they do to strengthen the main muscles they use in their events.

The training facility will also have screens in main training areas, where athletes will be able to see tweets of support from Twitter users. Tweets using '#TeamUSAShoutout' will scroll across the screens as extra motivation for the athletes. So, even if you can't support our athletes at live events here in London, get to tweeting and support from home.
