While crowded Tubes and flocks of confused tourists will be inevitable, take advantage of some of the benefits, such as extended days and hours for many of the city's staples. Besides, there's only so many hours you can spend at Olympic Park, right?
Getting to and fro will be quite the feat, and you're bound to work up an appetite. Luckily for Olympic tourists, London's famous Borough Food Market on the city's South Bank will be opened seven days a week during the Games and Paralympics. (Generally, the market is only open Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays.)
Borough features both a wholesale and retail food market, so you pick up a delicious, spicy lamb baguette to snack on while perusing through jars of homemade pesto and olive tapenades. (That's what we did, anyway.)

The market is most accessible from the London Bridge station (off the Jubilee line, one of lines also servicing the main Olympic Park.) The extended hours will be from 10am to 5pm Sunday through Friday, and 8am to 5pm on Saturdays.
